Fisher-Price Adventure People meet The Remco Universal Monsters

The Creature from the Black Lagoon is about to surprise this unsuspecting Deep Sea Diver!

Around 1980, Remco released a line of six Universal Monsters 3 3/4" Action Figures.  The line included Count Dracula, The Wolfman, The Mummy, The Frankenstein Monster, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.  All six were released in "Glow-In-The-Dark" and non-glow versions.  The monsters were awesome, but wouldn't they be even better with someone for them to scare?  Fortunately, the similarly scaled Fisher-Price adventure people were on the shelves from 1975 to 1985 giving us plenty of victims for our cool monster figures!  Since we're in the month of October, I thought I'd share some photos of the Fisher-Price Adventure People with the Remco Universal Monsters!
Look out, Brad!  There's something behind you!  It looks like some sort of Wolfman!

Frankenstein's Monster has left the castle and follows an unsuspecting, pretty girl down the mountain.

The Mummy approaches our hero as he reads the writing on the wall!

As the Highway Trooper looks for clues, he has no idea that The Phantom of the Opera approaches!

Count Dracula mesmerizes another victim!

  1. I had a few of the FP adventure people but sadly none of the REMCO monsters. I've seen the new ones created by Super7 but for some reason they don't appeal as much to me as the REMCO versions. Why is that???

    1. I think part of it is a nostalgia for the toys that were made when the technology wasn't as advanced. It's a certain type of charm that's tough to replicate.
