Universal Monsters Bend-Ems: Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolf Man, & The Creature From The Black Lagoon! I had heard that Walgreens was selling Universal Monster Bendy figures early in the Halloween season, but despite several trips to numerous Walgreens locations, I hadn't seen a single one.  Yesterday, I stopped by a Walgreens and I wasn't even thinking about Halloween stuff.  As I was heading to the cash register, I ended up in the Halloween Clearance section.  There were 50% Off and 70% Off signs all over the place.  Boxes of Christmas products were being loaded on to the shelves at the other end of the Holiday section.  Behind a 50% Off sign, I noticed these familiar characters! Dracula, Frankenstein, Mummy, and Skeleton wind-up toys! One of the cool things about collecting monster toys is you never know what weird, wild, wacky stuff you'll stumble across to add to your collection.  Most of the monsters that I collect are based on the main Universal Monsters characters...even though it's often not officially licensed items.  Not too long ago, while browsing around ebay, I stumbled across several different Monster Wind-Up toys.  There were several that were obviously based on the Universal Monsters (Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy), though I'd be surprised if any of them are actually licensed products.  Either way, at under $1 each, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to add these quirky little guys to my collection!
